- The drive to the trailhead near Mount Engadine Lodge is about 40 km and one hour each way.
- Marushka Lake trail details can be found at: https://kananaskistrails.com/marushka-snowshoe/2010/
- This area does require a valid Kananaskis Conservation Pass for all vehicles.
- Every participant will be required to complete and sign a waiver. 2024 Waiver & Photo Release form can be found on the POA website.
The group typically stops at the lake, weather permitting, for snacks, lunch, and warm drinks so please bring your choice of lunch items with you. No alcohol is permitted on the outing. Please bring / wear the following items:
- Warm hiking or winter boots suitable for walking in your snow shoes.
- Snow shoes. If you need to rent snow shoes, Gear Up in Canmore is a great option. You can pick up your snowshoes the evening before the event and return them after the outing at no additional charge: https://www.gearupsport.com/skates-and-snowshoes-rental-canmore
- Hiking poles help if you have them.
- Dress in layers. This is important for a more enjoyable experience. You may find you warm up as you walk and cool off when you stop.
- Consider a second set of mittens or gloves; your first pair may get wet and cold, especially when we stop at the lake.
- Food, sandwiches, trail mix, snacks, warm drink, water if you prefer.
- Small back pack / day pack to carry your items.
- Bear spray if you have it.
Hope to see you on the trail.
