About the event
Want to experience a relatively easy hike in the mountains and learn a bit of geology at the same time? Then this hike is for you!!
We will walk along Jura Creek passing through an amazing slot canyon by a small stream. Along the way, we will be stopping at many spots to marvel at ancient worm burrows and other interesting geological features, while taking in some breathtaking mountain scenery.
The hike is a 6KM roundtrip with very little elevation gain. The terrain along the creek has numerous rocks and boulders so hiking boots are suggested but not necessary."
Participants will meet outside the Pulse Coffee Shop in the Malcolm Hotel at 9:00 on Friday morning.
We will need to carpool to the hike which is near Exshaw along Highway 1A - about a 15 minute drive.
Participants may wish to bring a lunch or snack (whatever your preference) to enjoy at the destination Outcrop at Jura Creek.
Further details will be provided when we know the numbers attending.
